Neeraj Vora was a talented actor and who gave hilarious performances in films like Rangeela, Daud, Virasat, Welcome Back among others. Born in Gujarat, he was a multifaceted personality who worked as director, writer, actor and composer for several Hindi and Gujarati movies.
Born in Bhuj in a Gujarati family Neeraj grew up in Santacruz, a suburb of Mumbai. He was brought in a traditional Gujarati family. He had leaning for acting since his childhood days. He received a number of honors and also intercollegiate awards for drama. He made his debut scene appearance with a film Holi by Ketan Mehta. He later appeared in Rangeela, Virasat, and Mann to name few.
Neeraj was not just an actor but also was an acclaimed writer and director. His work as a writer includes Rangeela, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Deewane Huye Paagal, Josh, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Badshah, Awara Paagal Deewana, Ajnabee and Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri among many others. He directed movies like Khiladi 420, Familywala and Phir Hera Pheri. During his lifetime he got nominated for various prestigious awards and won Screen Award for Best Screenplay and Screen Award for Best Dialogs for Hera Pheri. Recipient of Lions Gold award and Pearls Ratna award Neeraj suffered a brain stroke in October 2016 putting him in the coma.
Illness and Death
Being in the coma since 2016, he was living with producer Firoz Nadiadwala who converted a room into a make-shift Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for his longtime friend. His condition deteriorated on 13th of December and was taken to the hospital, where he breathed his last. His death was mourned by many eminent personalities.
